Psalm 78
. . . we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done. .
so the next generation would know them . . . and they in turn would tell their children.
Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.

Holy Week Reflection

I'm spending the days between Palm Sunday and Easter reading the Gospels' account of Jesus' week leading up to his death. He spent much of his time that week teaching in the temple. This struck me afresh this morning:

"And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near." Luke 21:25-28 (emphasis added)

The Gospel chapters that tell about Jesus' final week:

Matthew 21-26
Mark 11-14
Luke 19-22
John 12-18

Amy,

We happened to be studying Luke 21 last week in CBS. That first stirred my heart as well. Thank you for the gospel chapters listed so nicely. I have been dwelling in Luke, but need to be reading all the gospels. Bless you and your family this Holy Week.

The Word of God is living, isn't it? I've read this many times, and yet this passage stood out to me in a new way!

Blessings to you both as you meditate on the work of Christ.
