Psalm 78
. . . we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done. .
so the next generation would know them . . . and they in turn would tell their children.
Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.

Parenting with the Gospel in Mind

There are two little booklets from Children Desiring God that I can't seem to keep around because I keep giving away my copies! Fortunately, they are now available as e-booklets and for just $3 each I can download a new copy.

Helping Children to Understand the Gospel
This booklet briefly but clearly explains how we can best prepare our children for the Gospel. Perhaps more than any other resource, this booklet helped me see that my children's sinful behavior shouldn't discourage me, but is part of their journey in understanding their need for a Savior. How can our parenting communicate the Gospel to our kids? You need to put that into action in your home, but this booklet helps you see how to communicate Gospel truth to your children. A 10-week family devotional is also included, that is a great tool for teaching your family the good news of Jesus.

Praying for the Next Generation
This booklet gathers together Scriptures to pray for children and teens into 12 groups, one prayer theme for each month in the year. It also describes how to turn God's word into prayers, beginning with Psalm 1. I highly recommend this, even if you are a veteran at praying Scripture.

Both booklets are also available pre-printed and bound, if you would rather not download and print your own copy. Check it out here.
